The Artist
In my spare time, I paint and I draw. This portfolio is all the best bits that I've made over the years. Consider it a peek inside my brain!
"...The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country
Digital Art
When I draw (with pen or tablet) I'm always coming up with some sort of narrative in my head. It's the primary motivator and what makes the process interesting. I get to immerse myself in the worlds and the lives of the things that I create.
Painting
Painting, for me, has always been focused on expression through colour (and lack thereof in some cases). The process of putting paint on canvas gives me the same feeling you get catching up with an old friend.
"so I'll write it out just as I see it
and just as it sounds in my heart
and pay no mind to those wasting their time
in confusing confusion with art"
and just as it sounds in my heart

in confusing confusion with art"
Keaton Henson, Idiot Verse
