My hope was to show that we have a society have made a significant improvement in gender diversification in the video game industry over the last 20 years. Yes, since the first E3 in 1995 popular culture has taken a few steps in the right direction with an increasing number of women working in the industry, higher diversity in character genders, as well as come closer to an equal amount of female players. However, I don’t feel that these steps have amounted to what could have been done in 20 years’ time. We should let that discourage us but drive us to equality in the gaming industry.
